Celebrating 100 Years

Troop 12 meets every Wednesday night while school is in session from 7:15pm to 9:00pm at the United Methodist Church, 180 West Neck Road, Huntington, NY 11743.  We are proudly chartered by the Halesite Fire Department.

Troop 12 is a boy-led troop, under the watchful eye of trained adults. Our program follows the ideals of Scouting, which is designed to help boys grow physically, mentally and morally.

The scouts elect their own leadership and learn by doing and teaching. The scouts choose their program for the year which includes camping, hiking, canoeing, biking and skiing at a variety of places on and off Long Island.

Our program operates year-round, with a 3-week break at the end of August. The program includes weekly troop meetings, monthly camping trips, day outings, merit badge opportunities and community service projects. In addition, we attend summer camp for 7 days the first week of August at Camp Yawgoog, in Rhode Island.
