About Us
Troop 12 is a boy-led troop, under the watchful eye of trained adults. Our program follows the ideals of Scouting, which is designed to help boys grow physically, mentally and morally. Experienced scouts guide new scouts while they learn skills such as fire building, knot tying, outdoor cooking, camping, backpacking, first aid and more.
Troop 12 meets every Wednesday night when school is in session from 7:15pm to 9:00pm at the United Methodist Church, 180 West Neck Road, Huntington, NY 11743. Full Class A uniforms are required for troop meetings.
We are proudly chartered by the Halesite Fire Department.

Troop 12 History
Sagamore Hill
Troop 12 was originally known as Troop 1 and in the 19-teens we would hike to President Roosevelt's house for calisthenics and lunch.
A New Start
The Great War, WWI, changed the lives of many in the area. By the time the troop regrouped and rechartered, it was 1923 and we were assigned the number 12.
Huntington History
In 2016, Troop 12 donated the original Troop 1 flag to the Huntington Historical Society.
